Zalewski Named Kookaburras’ Player of the Year for 2018

Kookaburras co-captain Aran Zalewski has earned top honours at Hockey Australia’s Awards Night in Perth after he was announced as the Kookaburras’ Player of the Year for 2018.

The Margaret River product was a popular winner, claiming the award ahead of co-captain Eddie Ockenden and Matt Swann.

Zalewski won gold medals at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April and in the last ever instalment of the Champions Trophy which was held in the Netherlands in July.

On top of the Kookaburras’ success in the Netherlands, Zalewski was awarded the tournament MVP title for his outstanding personal campaign.

 


 


His feats saw him listed as a finalists for the WAIS Athlete of the Year and for the WA Sports Star of the Year.
