In alignment with Hockey Australia and Hockey WA, WAIS operates a daily training environment for emerging and developing athletes, with the intention to graduate athletes to the national men’s (Kookaburras) and women’s (Hockeyroos) teams.
WAIS offers the opportunity for athletes to gain Hockey Scholarships by achieving the selection criteria outlined in the Selection Guidelines, Criteria and Process.
Part of the Pathway Performance Team the program employs a Head Coach and Coach with support from the Pathway Performance Enhancement Team under the leadership of the Performance Enhancement Team Director – Pathway
Scholarship athletes have access to coaching and the Performance Enhancement Team covering strength and conditioning and sport science and sports medicine services – physiology, psychology, biomechanics, sports nutrition and physiotherapy and support outside of sport through athlete wellbeing and engagement.
