In alignment with Hockey Australia and Hockey WA, the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) delivers a high-performance daily training environment for emerging and developing athletes. This elite program is designed to prepare Western Australia’s top talent for progression to the national teams — the Kookaburras (men) and Hockeyroos (women).
WAIS offers Hockey Scholarships to athletes who meet the selection standards outlined in the official Selection Guidelines, Criteria and Process. These scholarships provide a launchpad for athletes aiming to compete on the world stage.
Scholarship athletes receive access to:
- Expert Coaching from Stephanie Andrews, Anthony Potter, and Tim Geers
- Integrated Performance Services: Strength & Conditioning, Physiology, Psychology, Biomechanics, Nutrition, and Physiotherapy
- Holistic Athlete Support: Wellbeing and personal development
